Disconnect – A Short Film by The Grand Sarachis

As discussed in Ep 11 of The MossyBrain Show, here is DISCONNECT, the award-winning film from director Jon Laakso and The Grand Sarachis. Made in 2012 as a part of the 48 Hour Film Project, this film was written, cast, shot, edited and mixed over the course of two days by a team of six people.

This film is a shining example of the amazing art that can be created when people say yes to opportunity and work as a team. Don’t let your limitations hold you back- always strive to do amazing work within your limitations. You’ll be surprised by the results!

Leave your feedback on the film in the comments, or send it directly to Jon Laakso.

The Black Hole

The Black Hole

The Black Hole is an amazing short film from 2008 by UK directors Phil Sampson and Olly Williams. I first saw this short several years ago and I was floored by the simplicity and effectiveness of their concept.

Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you need a certain budget or specific resources in order to execute your creative vision. Creativity thrives when the maximum restraints are placed upon you or your project, whether it’s money, time, resources or manpower. This short accomplishes in less than three minutes what some Hollywood blockbuster never do- clarity of premise and precision execution.

Please watch the film and let us know if you love it as much as we do!

12 Sips to Glory

You guys need to check out this inspiring film from director Matt Hirst.  It’s the story of Trey Williams, an average Texan with an uncanny palette for orange soda.  The director takes a simple concept and a charismatic subject and executes a a delightful short film about the passion and exuberance we all have inside of us for SOMETHING.  Watch this short film and think about your own superpower.  If you were to be forever known and recognized for one skill, ability or passion, what would it be?
